Thanks to all the competitors who came and to Jonathon Emberton, Rebecca
Lloyd & Anthony Greenwod for their help. Sorry we didn't have e-punching,
but a last minute spanner was thrown in the works which meant going to plan
B with 15 minutes to registration opening! Also big apologies to those on
course 1 who got to the second control site to find no kite. We hold up our
hands to that one. I thought that my oppo had put it out, he thought I had
put it out there was no control 45 left in the car , so we asumed the other
had put it out, but didn't ask! Thanks to Andy Monroe for informing us, we
have adjusted times to compensate. I hope not too much enjoyment was lost.
This is our first park/sprint race and we can only learn from the
experience. I hope the ridiculous undergrowth, which wasn't there in April,
didn't slow too many down, but the details did mention some woodland would
be used!
We now realise we need a brand new survey of summer vegetation so we can
have two maps, one for summer and one for winter!!!
Any way thanks again to all concerned.
I have learnt alot about planning sprint races and will definitely do it
better next time.
My winning times were as predicted.
