Organisers Comments - Far Isle Farm Informal event 14/06/2006
It was pleasing to see you all at the event. It's a pleasant area but with a fair bit of ups and downs and with the mud in the wood made you work a bit!
People seemed to enjoy themselves so that makes the task of planning and organising so worthwhile.
It's not often we get to run a brand new area so we are very grateful to the farmers Sue and Chris Argent for allowing us to use their land and also for making us so welcome. Sue and Chris and family and friends really enjoyed us being there. Not their usual evening by a long way.
I must confess in 32 years of orienteering I have never been to an event where the landowners made us so welcome. It was really pleasing to see everyone socialising in the barn after their runs. It is something that doesn't often happen at events. There seemed to be plenty of money in the collecting boxes so thank you all very much for your generosity. The club donated a portion of our takings to the charity as well.
I hope I've got your times correct as the little printer doesn't store the times after it has printed out your results. I had to interrogate the start and finish boxes and work out the times so I may have got one or two wrong. Apologies if I have.
