Planner's comments.

Thanks to all who attended - it really makes the hard work worthwhile when
over 300 turn up to compete. I think Storthes Hall is a really great area,
allowing interesting courses for both novice and experienced orienteers
alike. On planning the white, yellow and Orange, I was guided by my son
Adam (4 and three quarters) who often complains that track junction after
track junction is "boring, Daddy". Instead, I tried to mix in quite a few
other control features on or next to paths to keep the younger ones
interested. To provide sufficient physical challenge on Light Green, Green
and Blue, I opted against extra distance in favour of more climb to reduce
the feeling of running back and forth too much. Thanks to my Dad for the
support and assistance throughout the planning process and to Mike P and Ian
Mac for the required "technical" help. I thought Alistair did a great job
as organiser. Thanks to Richard Wren who helped to put out the controls and
Charlie Adams for his input, which despite what he says was more than
"collecting a few controls in". We were done and dusted and ready to go
home one hour after courses closed - which shows what a good team we had in
place.
