Organisers Comments

Firstly, thanks are due to Emma, David, John and Jack for their assistance on the night. It always makes and organiser's job easier when his team is so willing to assist beyond the call of duty. Most of all, though, thanks to Alistair who, in addition to planning the courses for the evening, helped and guided me through this, my first experience of organising an event. In the days prior to the event, whenever I had a query, or remembered something else to sort out, he had already not only thought of it but done it! The reality is that he had far more to do with the smooth running of the event than I did.

Thanks also to Dave Mee and his team at the countryside park.

Most of all, thanks to all of you who turned up and ran. I think you will all agree that the evening was ideal for night orienteering: clear and cool with a more or less full moon and a lovely piece of woodland – nature was on our side that night!

It was seeing everyone returning from their run having (in most cases, anyway) clearly enjoyed it that really made it worthwhile for me.
