March 18, 2007
Sunday, 4th Febuary 2007
I agreed to control the event at the beginning of December and was pleased to find that Emma was well organised, had familiarised herself with the course guidelines and produced a draft set of courses. One visit to the wood was sufficient to agree all the tagged control sites.
The use of OCAD and Email set off a series of comments and suggestions
before finalising the courses well in time for printing.
Comments on the day were mainly very favourable, with the odd reference
to dog-legs on some courses. In such a small area as Haw Park, this was
always a possibility, particularly to set up legs with different route
choices.
As a first time Planner, I believe that Emma did an excellent job and
I thank her for making my job easier.
Finally, many thanks to the 225 orienteers who ran at the event and made
our jobs worthwhile.
