As we used the courses from the cancelled event last year, my job was fairly easy this time. One thing that surprised me was that the tussocks did seem to have changed noticably in a year. Some places were less runnable and others more. I think the change which most impacted the event was in the area to the left of the high start. Apologies to those who found it a bit tougher than it should have been.
Graham did a good job of using the interesting bits of the moor whilst avoiding the worst of the undergrowth. The penalty for this was a few less interesting legs but, believe me, it was the right decision.
There are occasionally nice periods of weather on Marsden Moor. There were a couple of hours on Saturday when the sun shone and it was really nice. Anyhow, thanks for braving the weather, especially late starters.
I got the impression that many of you enjoyed it in spite of the elements.
