Thanks to you all for coming to the event. Hopefully you all enjoyed the event. Comments I heard indicated that you did. It was a lot drier than last year making the woods much more pleasant to run in, though one or two of you seemed to find some deep marshy bits.
Again, as last year, Chris and Sue Argent made us more than welcome and we are extremely grateful to have the use of such a lovely area and also for all the trouble they went to in cleaning out the barn for us and providing such lovely food. Hopefully we made a lot of money for the local MacMillan home, Manorlands. The club donated all the profits from the event.
I was pleased that Holly and Lizzie agreed to plan the event. It makes a nice change to have some youthful planners. I did a small amount of tweaking of the courses but 95% of the courses were all their work. Well done girls.
In a way it was pleasing to see that several experienced orienteers
were a bit careless and punched the wrong controls – tut tut.
Also a watch is a good idea when doing a score event!
If Brian M wants to ring me with his times I will include him in the results. I couldn’t find his results!
Having mapped the area and planned both events on the area, I look forward to orienteering on it one day.
This must be the first EPOC Informal event with electronic punching?
