A huge thank you to everyone who helped on the day and beforehand, it always amazes me how generous people are to give so much time and effort. This is also the case with the teachers and parents who brought along their pupils and made the day such a success.

Fortunately the weather gave way to a nice day and we were able to go ahead with the event. Earlier in the week the dam had shown signs of bursting hence our warning that we may have to cancel. In the end the wood remained fairly dry and was as pretty as ever.

We have the Pennine Community to thank for the new assembly area, which I’m sure you’ll agree was fantastic. This did mean the walks to the start were a little longer than I would like but meant we could have the start/finish in a new location making the courses different from previous events and also we could get everyone into the woods without crossing the very fast Barnsley road.
