Far Isle Farm Informal Orienteering Event
Date: Wednesday 28th May 2008
Times: Registration
from 5.45pm till 7pm. Starts from 6pm till 7.15pm.
Courses close at 8.30pm.
Car Park: At the farm at SE 039339 or on the approaches signed from the B6141 at SE037344 on the South East edge of Oxenhope.
Terrain: Runnable moorland catchment, with wooded valleys and good contour detail.
Map: 1:5,000, 5m contours, mapped in 2005
E-punching: Will be used at this event. E-cards are available if you don’t have your own. There is no charge but you will have to reimburse us to the tune of £20 if you lose it. If you haven’t used e-punching before, don’t worry, its easy and will be explained to you before you start.
Results: Your
result will be available at the finish and full results will
appear
on the EPOC web site www.eastpennineoc.org.uk
Refreshments: Refreshments available with collection in aid of Sue Ryder charity – please give generously. This will feature some of the wonderful products from the farm itself – to get a taste see www.farislefarm.co.uk Prize giving afterwards!
Toilets: A toilet will be available.
Dogs: As this is working farm – sorry no dogs
Fees: Adults £2, Juniors/Students £1
Courses: Short
2 km suitable for beginners
Long 4.7km two part window course for those who want
a stretch (only each control site and attack point is visible. You
have to use rough bearings and pace distance to get into the right area. If
you rather & bring a pen you can copy the course onto a complete
map)
