Preliminary details
Storthes Hall
Middle Distance Ranking Regional Event
Sunday 29th June 2008
Car Park. Signed from A629 Huddersfield
to Sheffield road at GR SE 189134. 6km SE of Huddersfield Town Centre.
Terrain. Lovely, runnable, deciduous woodland with a
good path network and some contour detail.
Map. Recently revised by Ian MacMillan. 1:10000, 5m
contours.
Electronic. SI Controls.
Registration. 10am to 12 noon.
Courses. Middle distance courses. Enter as for a normal
Regional Event, but no need to choose between Long and Short. Winning
times on all courses will be fast!
Starts. 10.30am to 12.30pm. About 10 mins walk.
Finish. About 5 mins from car park. In
the interest of reducing waste, EPOC are adopting a policy of not providing
drinks. Please bring the drinks you require!

Dogs. No problem if on a lead at all times.
Safety. Safety is the responsibility of the competitor.
We are using the 'Buddy' system. Make sure you have a reliable buddy
who will raise the alarm if you seem very late finishing. Lone competitors
who cannot find a buddy should leave their car keys at the information
and enquiries car. Courses close at 2.30pm.
Newcomers. Those new to Orienteering will be very welcome
at this event. Just bring along a compass if you have one and ask at
enquiries.
