Preliminary details
Rishworth Moor Regional Event
Sunday 26th October 2008
incorporating the YHOA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Travel: GR
SD991151 – 0n A672 500m northeast of junction 22 on M62.
Parking: Linear
parking on track to Green Withens reservoir. Parking charge £1.00.
We will try to give priority parking near assembly area to families with
small children. Coaches/large motorhomes: please contact organiser in advance.

Terrain: In
places fast open moorland with few handrail features, technical former
quarry workings, and intricate slopes with some tussocks. The courses
have been planned to avoid the worst of the tussocks.
Safety: All
competitors take part at their own risk. This is high exposed Pennine moorland
and weather conditions can change very quickly. Please wear appropriate
clothing. Whistles will be compulsory and cagoules may also have to be
worn/carried.
Courses: All
normal Badge courses plus White to Light Green colour coded. JM/W1, JM/W2,
and JM/W3 starts will be almost adjacent to assembly, but due to the nature
of the area these courses are planned to the top end of guidelines on distance
and physicality and whilst technical difficulty is at BO recommendations,
it is exposed moorland and parents should take these factors into account
when entering children on their courses. A String Course may be available
- please check EPOC website when final details are posted. Electronic
punching (SI) –dibbers available to hire.

-12.30 Courses will close at 14.30

Prizes: The
prize giving for the YHOA Championships will be held asap after 13.30.
It would be appreciated if serious contenders for prizes do not have very
late starts!
Dogs: This
is Access Land and dogs are permitted at this time of the year under close
control. Sheep graze on the moor. Please keep your dog on a lead in the
car park/assembly areas and do not take dogs on courses.
