HONLEY WOOD DISTRICT EVENT

                                             FINAL DETAILS

Welcome to Honley Woods. I hope you all have an enjoyable run.

Please note that ALL courses cross a fairly busy minor road and that competitors have to re-cross this road after they have finished.
Both road crossings will be marshalled.  However, parents with very young children may wish to shadow them round their course.

PARKING
It is hoped to park all competitors on an Industrial Estate ( GR 109106 ). The entrance to the estate is at the bottom of Knowle Lane, which is at the south end of Meltham Mills Road. Registration and the Results/Download caravan will be located at the entrance to this estate. Competitors leaving for the Start should return to the entrance and then turn left up a hill for about 100 metres. The Start is then a further 100 metres down a path on the left, the Finish is on the right.

REGISTRATION
Registration is open from 9.30 to 11.30.
The event is using E punching, so if you do not own a dibber you will need to hire one.

FEES
Adults £5.  Juniors £2.  Students with card £2.50.
Dibber hire is £1 for Adults and 50p for Juniors.

STARTS
Starts are from 10.30 to 12.30.

TOILETS
There are 4 portaloos adjacent to Registration.

FINISH
Orange or water will be available at the Finish.
Please remember to download at the Results Caravan and to hand any hired dibbers back to the Registration team.

DOGS
On leads in the car park.
Dogs will be allowed on courses if they are under control. Please note that there are sheep in some fields which are adjacent to the wood. Dog walkers and horse riders also use the wood.

STRING COURSE
There is a free course in the park opposite Registration.
Please take care crossing the road.

MAP
The map is 1:10000 scale with 5m contours. All maps are pre-marked on waterproof paper, but not bagged. Out of bounds areas are marked on the map.
The woods are used by walkers and mountain bikers who have created a complex network of paths. Note that not all tracks and paths on the ground are mapped.

CONTROL DESCRIPTIONS
Control descriptions are printed on the map. All courses have pictorial descriptions using IOF symbols except for White and Yellow which have written control descriptions.
Loose copies of the control descriptions will be available at Registration
