Ogden Water Regional & Ivor Noot Memorial Event
Organiser's Comments.
Firstly thank you to EVERYONE who helped today, but especially
a big thank you to Anthony Greenwood with his support in organising. He
smoothed a lot of issues with arranging permissions, getting gates unlocked
as well as signage to and from the reservoir, as well as driving the minibus.
The weather, which I am afraid, is beyond our control, was my biggest worry.
The forecast for today was appalling, but in the end was not anywhere near
as bad as it could have been. Yesterday the car park was soft and the barn
car park was still okay just, for 4 wheel drives. However after last nights
rain, I think only the tractor would have got in without any difficulty.
The car park just about held up and most people got in and out without
TOO many problems.
The only problem we had was a few people forgot to download, which as
an organiser always cause stress, however the joy of parking predominantly
in a field is that when it is empty, every one must be back in! That and
the fact that the roadside parking was all empty as well.... I must apologise
to the couple of competitors who were parked on the road and did not see
cagoules were compulsory until they were on their way to the start. An
unfortunate oversight and I hope it did not spoil your enjoyment of the
day overall.
Most people I saw seemed to be smiling which, as an organiser, is what
you want to see. The farmers livestock was of great interest to all ages
and Paulette and her willing band of helpers really added to the success
of the day. I know several people paused at Ivor's knoll, and at least
one person had to stop a bit longer. Thank you Jonathan for putting that
in and labelling it as you did.
Finally thank you all for coming and making the day a success.
Have attached a few pics.
Cheers Rebecca.
