Storthes Hall Woods Local (colour coded) Event

Car Park. Hard standing in the Storthes
Hall complex, SE of Huddersfield. There are permanent toilets. Follow permanent
and O signs from A629 at SE189133.
Terrain. Lovely, runnable, deciduous woodland with a good
path network and some contour detail.
Map. Recently revised by Ian MacMillan. 1:10000, 5m contours.
Features due to mountain biking activity are not mapped.
Electronic. SI Controls.
Registration. 10am to 12 noon.
Courses. String, White, Yellow, Orange, Long Orange, Light
Green, Green & Blue.
Starts. 10.30am to 12.30pm. About 10 mins walk.
Finish. There are two finishes. One finish is for
Green and Blue. All other courses use the other finish. Both are close
to each other and to the Start.
Entry Fees. Seniors £5. Juniors £2.
Dogs. No problem if on a lead at all times.
Safety. Safety is the responsibility of the competitor.
We are using the 'Buddy' system. Make sure you have a reliable buddy who
will raise the alarm if you seem very late finishing. Lone competitors
who cannot find a buddy should leave their car keys at the information
and enquiries car. Courses close at 2.30pm.
Newcomers. Those new to Orienteering will be very welcome
at this event. Just bring along a compass if you have one and ask at enquiries.
