Storthes Hall Woods Local Event

Planner's and Controller's Comments.

A bit strange to have a husband and wife team planning and controlling but it seemed to work well - we are still speaking!

The choice of a new start and finish seemed to work well and Ian McMillan's idea of copying a section of the map to create a one sided two part course on the Green Course seemed not to confuse too many people. Whilst Juliet did all the planning, David spent many hours trying to understand how the OCAD course planning segment worked - again many thanks to Ian for his help.

On the day the woods looked beautiful with sunlight coming through the new leaves and with swathes of bluebells on the ground. There were many positive comments from you the competitors. Our apologies to one pair on the Orange course who found we had taken in a couple of controls too early - the one time we were talking but not on the same wavelength!

Many thanks to Paul and Amanda for their efficient organisation and for helping collect some controls afterwards despite having to rush off. It was their wedding aniversary and as they had become Husband and Wife at the summit of Ingleborough they were determined to celebrate their anniversary there as well - ah! the energy of the young.

We hope that you all enjoyed your day!

David and Juliet Morgan.
