Saturday saw Dick and myself dithering about whether or not to go ahead with the Event in the light of the weather conditions and impending forecast.

Despite the below average turnout I am pleased that we eventually decided to go ahead as we just about managed to scrape through before the snow came down again and the 70 or so hardy souls who braved the elements all seemed to have enjoyed the experience.

Thaks are due to everyone who helped towards the Event , particularly to Anthony for arranging the Landowners permissions and especially to Dick for the imaginative planning and who essentially did the majority of the work involved in putting on theEvent.

We are grateful to the Landowners for access to the area, to Southowram Cricket Club for the use of their Facilities and to Marshalls for allowing us to use their car park at short notice when it became obvious that the Cricket Club fields were far too wet for this purpoise.

On behalf of the East Pennine Orienteering Club I would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and all the best for 2010 and we look forward to seeing you all at our next Events at Castle Carr on the 13th and 14th of February.
