Most courses will use up to 3 maps at various scales (School campus is 1:1000), the courses are shorter than usual but offer a ‘sprint style’ section with longer traditional legs. Route choice and climb guaranteed.

Control Sites: All control sites will be marked with a conventional kite. The SI unit and kite will be attached with a wire gripple.

Electronic punching: Sportident equipment is being used.

SI Download: After punching the finish control you must download as soon as possible.  Hired SI cards will be collected. Should you lose your SI card, or fail to return it, you will be charged the full price of a replacement.  e-punch hire £1.00 (Juniors 50p).

Shadowing Juniors: Juniors may be shadowed. To remain competitive, any adult who shadows a junior must have completed their run beforehand.

Results:  Results will be on display in the assembly area and via the EPOC web site www.eastpennineoc.org.uk, who will publish all weekend results.

Organiser: Davey Averill 07930819770 email:

Planner: Andy Thorpe EPOC who says:

All courses will use the intricate campus style terrain of the school grounds at 1:1000 scale. Most courses will use up to 3 maps at different scales to give a really varied navigational experience. Although shorter than usual, all courses offer a fast and furious 'sprint style section' as well as a number of traditional longer legs with route choice and climb guaranteed! Course 7 for young juniors is entirely traffic free - contained within the school grounds. There will be plenty of controls out with courses visiting between 22 and 30! Full value for money! We can offer on site parking and changing rooms, toilets and showers, all within the school.

We will be offering something EPOC hasn't done before in terms of variety of urban style orienteering - the school campus is really like a mini uni campus, quite intricate and I've stuffed it with loads of controls!
