SUBJECT:   Well Done
When I heard about a massed start score event in Royds Hall Woods I thought it was a barmy idea. Now, having tried and enjoyed it I am completely converted. Well done Anthony, Richard and all concerned. A great event.

I enjoyed myself.  As has been said great to run in a wood without large swathes of brambles.

Some random thoughts on other comments:
The score format is a different challenge but it is unpopular as people do not want to have to think on their feet (to me that is another problem to solve.  We called in at the event on our way south for Christmas so whatever the date you may suit some and not others.

Storthes Hall would make a terrific Christmas Score Event area!

Really enjoyed chasing after my grandson on 45min score and he thought the 'head to head' racing was brilliant. But numbers were well down on last year at Storthes Hall - Last year's was on Christmas Eve and we got quite a few runners who had come to spend Christmas with relations nearby which must have made a difference but are some orienteers scared of score events?
There was much more socialising this year.

Well worth the journey up from the frosty west. Surprised how runnable the forest was, most forest running of late has included too many brambles. Good area. I prefer many variations of the sport so a score for a change was very welcome.

Lovely weather - for the time of year! My first score event having started orienteering in the autumn.

I was really pleased to escape the Christmas preparations and enjoy the fresh air.....and with a score event where the standard fitted me ie orange and below . That meant I knew that in theory I could find all the controls which was one less thing to think about! I felt that was quite important when you aren't used to the score format!

Thanks!

Well, what did you think of the event? I, the Organiser arrived home at 1.30pm, and I was last away, along with the caravan! We hope to have results before too long, than we can sort out the prizes, if possible before Christmas......
