Ogden. A delightful woodland with good path network for junior courses, but nevertheless challenging and intricate for the experts. Longer courses will venture onto the moorland around the wind turbines.

Car Park and Assembly Area. Due to large numbers of visitors to Ogden Water at the weekends, we have had to make alternative parking arrangements. All parking on the day, Registration, Download, Results, Shops, and Toilets will be in a level field at Holly House Farm, Upper Brockholes, next to Mount Zion Chapel, www.mountzionhalifax.org.uk (afternoon service, to which all welcome at 2.45pm)!. OS.Outdoor Leisure 21. GR 068 296. The car park will be signposted from the main Halifax/Keighley road, A629, approx 7km from Halifax at GR 070 297. Car parking in the public car park at Rock Hollow is not allowed to Orienteers. Competitors can use a minibus to get to the start and back from the finish, or have a pleasant jog/walk, 25/30mins along footpaths and lanes. If the mini-buses get busy, please take this option! There will be a £1 parking fee per car. The Milner Family of Holly House Farm are donating all money raised to MacMillan Nurses, RNLI, British Heart Foundation and RSPCA. They may also have some of their farm produce for sale in the barn.

Food. The ‘Green Machine", www.greenmachinefood.com will provide freshly cooked vegetarian foods and sandwiches.

Ultrasport may be at the event, Compass Point will be.

Toilets: Portaloos in car park field, public toilets near the start for walkers,and near the finish.

Dogs. Well behaved dogs on leads are fine in the car park, and at Ogden Water. But not on the String Course.

Registration: 9.30am - 11.30am. Dibber hire open at 9.15am for those that do not have their own. Pre-entries who have their own Dibber can proceed straight to the start. If there are changes to your pre-entry details, eg new Dibber or different course/class please go to registration before you start, and fill in a new form.

Electronic Punching: Will be used at this event for all courses, including Colour Coded.. Please be sure to insert your Dibber number on the entry form if you have one. If you do not have your own Dibber they can be hired on the day at Registration for £1.

Course 6: is not being used due to the extreme undergrowth cover which due to very warm weather has not died back as expected. We have compromised and put course 6 together with course 7 in an attempt to provide all competitors on

these classes an ENJOYABLE run.

This means there are no short courses in some of the older age classes, but the distance is aimed at the higher end of the shorter courses.

Control Descriptions: Will be on display at Registration. They will be pictorial, except for courses 8,9 and 10.

Entries on the day to Badge courses will be limited to the number of extra maps overprinted.

The YHOA Championships are based on age classes. The junior classes will take place as follows:

M10 on JM2, W10 on JW2. M12 on JM3, W12 on JW3. M14 on JM4, W14 on JW4.

M16 on JM5 Medium, W16 on JW5 Short. M18 on JM5 Long, W18 on JW5 Long. M20 on JM5 Long, W20 on JW5 Long.

Junior members of YHOA clubs wishing to compete in the championships should enter the relevant JM/JW classes as normal, and will automatically be included in the Championships if eligible. JM/JW classes remain open to all juniors. All junior entrants who are not BOF members (whether competing in the championships or not) need to ensure that they include their year of birth on their entries Colour Coded Courses (mark up your own maps). Free String Course. Run by the Pedley Family, in a new area of the delightful Ogden Wood. The visitor centre has ice-creams and drinks for sale afterwards!

Fees: Badge Courses, Adults £7.00, Juniors/Students, £2.50

Colour Coded courses, Adult £4.00. Student, £2.50. Check fees otech for latest fees.

Starts: 10.30am - 12.30am. There will be some flexibility with start times. You may start early or late, provided there is a gap on your course. Please assist the start team in ensuring that you do not start within three minutes of a member of your club.

Clothing Transfer: There will not be a clothing transfer.

Crossing Points: Please do not use crossing points as accurate aids to navigation.

Finish: There will simply be a finish banner, please remember to ‘punch’ here.

Courses Close: 2.30pm

Download will be in the car park/assembly.

Results: including Official comments, will be published on the EPOC website at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/philip.martin/index.htm You may leave a results envelope if you wish at Registration.

Safety:. Competitors take part at their own risk, and must bring a cagoule in case the controller deems them to be compulsory due to weather conditions. A notice to this effect will be displayed in the car park field. Whistles are advisable. We are using the 'Buddy' system, not stubs. Make sure you have a reliable buddy who will raise the alarm if you appear to be very late finishing. Lone competitorswho cannot find a buddy must leave their car keys and car registration number at the information and enquiries desk in the barn.
