Great video, Tony! What camera did you use? 1080p or 720?

SUBJECT:   re: line cutting
Thanks for your comment, Chris.  I've just looked at this and the line does indeed run over the steps causing a possible obscuring of this important feature. You can still make them out but when running this could have been easily mistaken for a continuation of the wall (and indeed it was!) Apologies to those who endured the scenic route to control 14!

SUBJECT:   Line cutting
Thanks for the course.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.
One small observation.  On course 4 the line between controls 13 and 14 could have done with cutting where it crosses the south end of the footpath running along the west side of the hospital.  I know at least one poor soul who took the darkness covered there by the purple (steps) to be an uncrossable wall and went all the way round the east of the hospital. I hesitated before taking this route for the same reason, and in the end took a calculated gamble that it would be crossable.

SUBJECT:   course distances
course 4 -advertised 4.4km straight line but my results spilt shows 6,6km and I went (according to mapometer) 6.75km (didn't get optimum route so 6.6km for optimum route looks about right

SUBJECT:   Course Distances
To answer a query re: distances.  Those shown on your map were the 'straight line' distances between controls. Of course, you will have all run further than that in reality!

Really enjoyed my course 2. Thanks EPOC for all your efforts. Winsplits for today can be found on the Winsplits website.

Results Course Distances vs Map Distances.
Are they the shortest distance?

SUBJECT:   Persuaded!
Reading your comments, I was persuaded to make the effort to upload my route. I always log it with my watch, but usually just use the pacing info. It is fun to see your route and others'.
It doesn't replace Winsplits though!
A really enjoyable return to West Yorks for me - thanks a lot. The snow added rather than detracted!
Good route choice possibilities, and the terraced streets were fun.

Really enjoyed the course even if my son persuaded me to do course 1 , so lost time on the long legs some good route choices and excellent control positioning , I liked our number 15.
Have to agree with Stan about route gadget, Whilst I can add my GPS track but as I use a MAC it won't let me add handles so I can adjust it. I think winsplits a nice simple table is a great tool.

Point taken Stan. Sorry if I was abrupt.
But isn't RG the only way to see routes other people take? Apart from car park discussions.

Thank you for your dismissive reply to my early comment. Yes, I can see other people's routes on Routegadget but there's no means of adding my own without either a downloadable watch or a jolly good memory. Nor can I tell which routes might have been quicker without seeing comparative times.
I know some would like to see Routegadget used universally but omitting other traditional data sources isn't the way to make that happen.

Excellent event with good use of ginnels and hills. I must learn there's no gap in the southern wall of the park ! Glad I started early before the sleet.
Sorry to see that there's no Winsplits nor Splitsbrowser. We don't all use or have the means for Routegadget.

SUBJECT:   Map Error
Apologies to all those affected by my map error where I missed off an uncrossable fence adjacent to the hospital grounds. I mapped this part a couple of years ago but it wasn't used as part of the event in 2013. It's quite frustrating considering the time put in but there we go!
